One of the founding members of the firm, Kelly Y. Schwab practices in the area of municipal law, including general legal advice, employment, contracts, land use and development law. Along with other attorneys of the Firm, she serves as general counsel for the municipalities of Gilbert, Litchfield Park, Wickenburg, Clifton, Dewey-Humboldt, and Youngtown. In the past she also served as general counsel for Marana and Sahuarita. She is often retained to work on special projects for other public entities. Her litigation experience includes insurance defense, civil litigation, and criminal prosecution for the towns of Gilbert and Marana, domestic relations, criminal defense and juvenile law cases. She has served as lead counsel in defending public entities on employment, civil rights, personal injury, and construction cases. Ms. Schwab has been a presenter on land use issues at seminars for the State Bar of Arizona, the League of Arizona Cities and Towns and the Arizona Department of Commerce. She has conducted training for her clients on open meeting laws, conflicts of interest, use of force and sexual harassment.
Ms. Schwab obtained her Bachelor of Science from Arizona State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Arizona. She is admitted to practice law in the State of Arizona and is also admitted to appear before the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. District Court in the District of Arizona. She is actively involved in community and legal organizations. Most recently, Ms. Schwab served on the committee for the school district-wide fundraiser, Taste of Kyrene. She was awarded the 2000-2001 Arizona State Bar Outstanding Young Lawyer Award for exceptional service to the State Bar and the community. She has served as a board member of the Arizona Women Lawyer’s Association and has been a member of numerous State Bar Committees including the Professionalism Committee, the Appointment Committee, the Convention Committee, and she served as the 2001 State Bar Convention Committee Chair.
